Comments - Intriguing kabuki scene showing two young farm boys carrying rakes with baskets strapped to their backs. They are accompanied by two samurai who seem alarmed. The warrior at right grimaces as he reaches for his sword, ready to draw the weapon. A beauty cowers before him, looking up in fear as she holds her kimono sleeve up for protection. An attractive setting with Mt. Fuji rising in the distance, framed by a pine tree. An intriguing work with wonderful characters and lively color.
