Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Temple and Actors Offstage

Comments - Handsome kabuki print showing actors offstage enjoying a stroll. The fellow at left holds a pipe and scowls as he looks back at his companions, who are bundled up against the cold with coats. The scene above depicts a stone walkway leading to the entrance gate of a temple, the outer building surrounded by torii gates. Just below, people can be seen in a teahouse hung with red paper lanterns. An interesting design, nicely detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 5/8" x 10" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Pinholes in corners, a few holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
