Kanadehon Chushingura Cast

Comments - Handsome kabuki triptych depicting the cast for a performance of the classic drama about the 47 ronin, "Kanadehon Chushingura." At bottom center, Bando Hisaburo IV appears and Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin, clutching the dirk with which Lord Hangan committed suicide. Just above him, Bando Shuka I appears as Lady Kaoyo, holding a helmet on an offering tray, while Lord Moronao leers down at her, wearing a black robe over a print kimono and a tall black court cap. The names of the actors and roles appear across the top. An attractive design with expressive figures.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Large loss at edge, a few smaller losses and wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling, very slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
