Series; Famous Places in the Eastern Capital

Late Spring at Massaki - Terrific Hiroshige print from one of his many "Famous Places in the Eastern Capital" series depicting springtime along the river. Boatmen pole their craft along the water, the torii gate to the temple at Massaki at the left edge of the print. In the foreground, visitors take a ferry across the river to visit the shrine. Beautiful color and fine bokashi shading in this attractive design. Published by Watanabe with a 7 mm seal, in use from 1957 to 1989.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous mounting. Slight toning. Some prints have a few spots or light creases at edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
