Puppeteer and Couple under a Willow Tree

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a puppeteer and a couple under a willow tree. The seller holds up a puppet of a figure with cymbals, waving its arms. He has a chest covered with a red cloth hung from a strap over his shoulders, and his kimono is patterned with all kinds of toys. The beauty lifts the sleeve of her pink cherry blossom print under robe to her forehead, looking down with a sober expression. The samurai kneels on the ground below, his hand to his chin, a worried frown on his face. His blue robe features birds in flight above fishing nets stretched out to dry. The graceful branches of a willow tree hang overhead above a garden fence made of brushwood. Beautiful detail and soft color in this handsome design.
