Series; The Shinmachi Quarter of Osaka

Tsukasa-dayu of the Higashi-Ogiya - Beautiful old reprint portrait of the courtesan Tsukasa-dayu from the Shinmachi pleasure district in Osaka. She holds her kimono sleeve up to her face as she looks over her shoulder, smiling slightly. Elegantly drawn with flowing line work and delicate embossed detail in the tie-dyed under robe, with a shimmering silver mica background. A classic ukiyo-e beauty design, rarely seen in reprint.

Artist - Choki (active circa 1785 - 1805)

Image Size - 15 1/4" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at corner from previous mounting. A few very small tears at edges, repaired. Toning, a few small spots and creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
