Confrontation in a Teahouse Courtyard

Comments - Dramatic kabuki scene of two commoners confronting each other in the courtyard of a teahouse, the beauty in between them trying to intervene. She holds her hand out in a stopping motion as the fellow in a checked robe at left pulls on her red obi patterned with cart wheels. The man at right grips his sword as he leans forward with an angry frown. The woman at left wears a purple kimono with a design of cart wheels and cherry blossoms that matches the beauty. The shoji windows of the teahouse glow behind them, with red paper lanterns hanging from the eaves. The silhouettes of trees can just be seen above the rooftop against the night sky. A handsome design with large expressive figures with fine line work in the hair and burnishing in the black kimono collar. We've never come across this subject before.
