Comments - Lively depiction of the Japanese Army battling the Chinese at Pyongyang during the Sino-Japanese War. At left, Japanese soldiers rush across a pontoon bridge to meet the enemy, an officer on horseback leading the way. Ahead to them, additional troops use their guns like clubs as the mass outside the entrance gate to a fortress. At upper right, men scale the side of a stone wall to take the castle. A dramatic image filled with detail, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
