Girls Playing Hanetsuki

Comments - Charming scene of two young girls playing hanetsuki, a traditional game similar to badminton played at New Year's. They each hold decorative battledores called hagoita, and the oibane or feathered shuttlecock floats in midair in above them. Wonderful detail in the elegant kimono fabrics, including burnishing in the black kimono. An attractive design.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 13 3/8" x 8 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A couple horizontal folds. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and spots, small rubbed spot. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
