Spring Scenery: Melody of a Musical Performance

Comments - Handsome scene of the Meiji Emperor and Empress enjoying a musical performance in the palace. The royal couple sits on a platform at upper left, while the ladies-in-waiting below play a variety of instruments. A boldly patterned carpet covers the floor, and a large ceramic container holds an arrangement of peonies and cherry blossoms. An interesting design with vibrant color, nicely detailed with faint embossing in the white kimono.

Artist - Fusatane (active 1854 - 1888)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color as shown. Slight thinning at corner, repaired. A few creases, stain. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
