Series; The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido by Two Brushes
Hodogaya: Scenery of Moor and Mountain on the Kanazawa Road, 1854 - Attractive image of a beauty and a young boy stopping for a break while traveling. The woman rests one hand atop a palanquin, smiling as she looks back over her shoulder at the boy, who carries a water dipper and has a green cloth bundle and a hat tied over his back. The landscape above by Hiroshige depicts the scenery along the Kanazawa Road near Hodogaya, with travelers making their way across the more in the foreground, and fields stretching out to a view of Mt. Fuji in the distance. A handsome design.
