Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Archer under a Blossoming Cherry Tree, 1885

Comments - Interesting image of an archer standing beneath a blossoming cherry tree as he awaits instructions. He peers over the top of his folding fan, a bow in his other hand and arrows visible at his back. Pink petals drift down over the scene, the grassy slope behind him dotted with more flowering trees. A handsome landscape setting. Nicely detailed with embossing in his white pants and the white cloth at right.

Artist - Meiji era artist (unsigned)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A couple holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
