Series; The Forty-seven Ronin, 1866

The Forty-seven Ronin - Terrific portrait of one of the famous forty-seven ronin from Yoshitora's 1866 series. Each print shows a samurai in action or in the calm moments before or after the night attack on Moronao's mansion. These expressive figures are nicely detailed and attractively colored, each wearing a robe with their trademark black and white dogtooth pattern, which also surrounds the title cartouche. A handsome depiction of these legendary warriors.
