47 Ronin, Act 8: The Bridal Journey (Michiyuki) - Wonderful scene of the bridal journey from Act 8 of the "Kanadehon Chushingura," the tale based on famous 47 ronin. Here, the lovely young Konami and her mother, Tonase, pause for a moment during their journey to Yuranosuke's estate near Kyoto. The young beauty wears a plaid kimono and carries a woven hat. Her mother's hat is fastened around her chin with narrow pink ties, and she wears a violet kimono over red and pink under robes, tied with a green brocade obi. Beautifully detailed with embossing in the hats. A subject rarely seen in reprint.
