A Thousand Views of the Sea and Waterside - Hokusai's striking "A Thousand Views of the Sea and Waterside" is considered one of the great landscape series from the later part of his career. Focusing on fishing and the movement of water, Hokusai's images beautifully capture mesmerizing scenes on the ocean, at the beaches, and along the rivers of Edo era Japan. Notable designs from this series include "Fishing Boats at Choshi," which is reminiscent of the famous "Great Wave," and "Whaling off the Coast of the Goto Islands." Reprints from the "Sea and Waterside" are rarely seen in the market compared to Hokusai's more famous "Thirty-six Views of Fuji" series.

This Complete Set - Published by the famous Tokyo publisher Adachi, this beautiful complete set includes ten reprints in windowed viewing folders in a traditional outer case. Printed to the highest standards of quality with excellent color and fine detail, each print has the Adachi Publisher seal on the reverse. This set also includes a title page in Japanese, a table of contents in Japanese and English, a booklet with commentary on each of the prints in Japanese and English, and a separate folded page with black and white photographs of the designs. The cloth-covered outer case features a title slip and string ties. Reprints are attached to the viewing folders at two points along the top edge on the reverse.
