Three Beauties Carrying Ads for Sweets

Comments - Intriguing image of three beauties holding advertisements for sweets or pastries. The women display the signs prominently as they exchange glances. The beauty at lower left wears a pale yellow-green kimono patterned with embossed flowers, while her companion at right wears a butterfly print robe. Each has carefully styled hair pulled back into a sleek bun and adorned with a comb and hairpins. Beautifully detailed with delicate line work in the hair and a shimmering gray mica background. A charming and unusual subject, not often seen in reprint.

Artist - Utamaro (1750 - 1806)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 10" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small tear at edge, repaired. Toning, a few tiny spots and creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
