Beauty and Bando Hikosaburo as a Commoner, 1876 - Handsome kabuki double portrait of Bando Hikosaburo as a commoner frowning angrily at the beauty sitting beside him, one hand gripping the end of his sword. The woman glares back at him, a pipe in her hand. The figures are set off by deep red background with a tie-dyed textile pattern. An inset above depicts a sword and a comb. A rarely seen Kunichika series, detailed with burnishing on the black kimono collars and obi.

Condition - Nice color and detail. Backed with paper. Small repair, light rippling, a few creases.
