Comments - Fantastic depiction of the two great generals Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin at the Battle of Kawanakajima. In the center, Kenshin gallops into the enemy camp on a brown horse, gripping his sword with both hands as he aims at Shingen. Still sitting on his folding camp stool, Shingen thrusts out his iron battle fan to deflect the blow. His retainers rally round him, rushing towards the horseman with spears and swords. The battle rages fiercely all around them with figures silhouetted in black against the night sky, weapons flying through the air. A dramatic scene packed with terrific detail, such as the snake figurine atop the helmet of the warrior on the right and his companion's skull banner. A great triptych illustrating the famous 16th century war between Kai and Echigo provinces, detailed with faint embossing on the white wig of Shingen's helmet.
