Original Toyokuni I (1769 - 1825) Japanese Woodblock Print
Archer at the Seashore

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of an archer at the seashore, gripping his bow with both hands. He wears an arm guard called an igote to protect his arm from the bowstring, and black fur chaps over his pants and armor. A quiver with a woven covering can be seen above his back, with an enormous crashing wave beyond, curling over in tendrils of white foam. A terrific design.

Artist - Toyokuni I (1769 - 1825)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/8"

Condition - Good detail. A few small repairs, light diagonal fold, creasing throughout.
