Onoe Baiko IV as Yugiri and Sawamura Chojuro V as Izaemon, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Handsome kabuki double portrait featuring actors on simulated wood panels framed in light blue. At left, the courtesan Yugiri looks over her shoulder with a worried expression, a roll of tissues in her hand. At right, Izaemon looks up with a suspicious frown, his brows slightly furrowed as he holds one sleeve before him. From left, the actors are Onoe Baiko IV and Sawamura Chojuro V. An interesting format.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 5/8"

Condition - Nice detail. A few repairs, creasing at edges.
