Heating Incense in the Bedroom in Vain, 1852

Comments - Interesting scene of Prince Genji in a bedroom, standing beside a folding screen. He smiles as he looks down, holding his sword sword and a cord between his hands. A samurai kneels at his side with a cloth-wrapped parcel in his outstretched hand, a worried expression on his face. Behind the figures, the room at upper left has an alcove with a potted narcissus on a wooden shelf above a panel decorated with a view of Mt. Fuji, a charming detail. An attractive design.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - Nice detail. Horizontal and vertical folds. A few small repairs, light creasing throughout.
