Gathering Shellfish at Low Tide on the Beach at Susaki, circa 1837 - 1838 - Charming scene of people gathering shellfish at low tide at Susaki, wading in the shallow water near a narrow spit of land or susaki near the mouth of the Meguro River. The torii gate nestled among the rooftops at left leads to a shrine dedicated to Benten, and a few sails rise out of the mist in the distance. A handsome design with soft bokashi shading.
