Plum Blossoms, 1852

Comments - Interesting image of a beauty holding a book with woodblock print illustrations, smiling and gesturing with her hand as she looks up. The book is open to a scene of mice dressed in kimono, an unusual detail. The woman behind her holds her sleeve to her chin, a surprised expression on her face. The room looks out onto a garden with a blossoming plum tree dotted with white flowers and buds. A handsome design.

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4" + left margin as shown
