Comments - Handsome portrait of Kawarazaki Gonjuro I as Shume Kokingo in "Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura" at the Ichimura Theater. He stands beside a tree as he takes a rest while traveling, leaning forward with an angry frown as he prepares to draw his sword. An open basket lies on the ground at left, and his hat can be seen at lower right. An interesting design, detailed with soft shading on the night sky.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/2"

Condition - Good detail. Diagonal fold at side, slight rubbing.
