The Akashi Bathhouse, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Charming portrait of a beauty on the lower level of the Akashi Bathhouse, holding a sword upright with one hand as she slides open a door with the other. She smiles happily as she looks back over her shoulder, her kimono bordered with white blossoms and tie-dyed squares. Potted plants rest on the floor behind her. A handsome design with a nicely detailed setting.
