Comments - Charming scene of the royal couple and ladies-in-waiting on an outing along a river. At lower right, a beauty standing on the shore leans forward to look down at the water. Behind her, an attendant shelters the Meiji Empress with an umbrella. At upper right, the Emperor wears a military uniform and cap. Nicely detailed with light embossing on the white kimono.
