Ito's Daughter Tatsu-hime, Uhyoenosuke Yoritomo, and Ito Nyudo Sukechika, circa 1844 - Interesting scene of Princess Tatsu entertaining the young samurai Uhyoenosuke Yoritomo, smiling and coyly tilting her head as she offers him a cup of tea on a black lacquer stand. The beauty's father Ito Nyudo Sukechika eavesdrops from behind a screen at right, scowling angrily as he hears the young couple. The screen features a magnificent phoenix with long tailfeathers against a red sun, and the room opens onto a garden with a large pond and a view of the ocean beyond. Wonderful detail in the setting.
