Scene from Taihei Irifune Shinozuka, 1839 - Attractive kabuki scene from the play "Taihei Irifune Shinozuka" at the Ichimura theater of a woman and two men beneath a blossoming plum tree. The beauty Otome no mae carries an ornate headdress in her outstretched hand, smiling back over her shoulder at her companions. She wears an elegant brocade outer robe over a pink and blue kimono, her hair adorned with clusters on tiny blue flowers and ribbons. At right, the young nobleman Imagawa Nakaaki displays a beautiful feathered robe with long, colorful tail feathers. He looks down with a slight smirk, a folding fan in his other hand. In the center, the samurai Arakawa Kurando seems quite agitated, gesturing at the woman with his fan, an angry frown on his face. From left, the actors are Bando Shuka I, Nakamura Utaemon IV, and Ichimura Uzaemon XII. A handsome design with lovely detail.
