Kataoka Gado II as Issun Tokubei and Morita Kan'ya XI as Tsurifune no Sabu, 1855

Comments - Handsome kabuki double portrait featuring Kataoka Gado II as Issun Tokubei at right and Morita Kan'ya XI as Tsurifune no Sabu at left. Tokubei blocks a blow from a sword with his own blade, frowning unhappily as the older Sabu looks up with a worried expression, his arms folded firmly across his chest. Tokubei wears a striking kimono with a bold pattern, adding graphic impact to the design. Nice expressive figures.
