Series; Five Courageous Bandits in Five Colors

Blue: Actor in a Feather Robe Kimono - Great kabuki portrait of an actor as a bandit wearing a striking blue kimono patterned with a feather robe hanging from a pine tree, a reference to the popular Noh play "The Feather Robe" (Hagoromo). He stares ahead with a saucy grin, biting the tip of his tongue, one hand gripping the hilt of his sword. An ancient plum tree dotted with white blossoms and buds fills the background against the night sky. A handsome design from a rare Kunichika series.
