Scene from Edo-zakura Kiyomizu Seigen, 1858

Comments - Handsome portrait of Seki Sanjuro III as Torii Shinzaemon in the kabuki play "Edo-zakura Kiyomizu Seigen" at the Ichimura Theater. He scowls angrily as he thrusts his sword out before him, wearing a boldly patterned coat over a purple and white kimono lined with a blue and green print of swirling clouds. He stands in front of a doorway hung with blue curtains, a blind hanging in the window at upper left. An attractive design.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - Nice color and detail. Backed with paper.
