Beauty in an Iris Garden, 1853

Comments - Charming kabuki scene of a beauty in an iris garden, tilting her head coyly and smiling as she offers a blossom to the daimyo at right. He looks at her with a worried frown as he rests one hand atop a shakuhachi flute, his striking kimono patterned with dragons and swirling clouds. At left, a samurai looks up from a koto resting across his lap, his blue robe decorated with swallows in flight. A wisteria vine wraps around a pine tree behind the beauty, a stone lantern nearby. A handsome design with an attractive setting.

Image Size - 14" x 28"
