Series; A Comparison of Loyal Retainers

Nakamura Shikan as Teraoka Heimon, circa 1832 - Handsome kabuki double portrait from the famous play "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers" (Kanadehon Chushingura), the story of the 47 ronin. At left, Nakamura Shikan appears at Teraoka Heimon, the brother of Okaru, who is married to the ronin Hayano Kampei, looking ahead with a distraught grimace. Behind him, an elderly man scowls with a tight-lipped frown as he holds a folding fan decorated with a landscape scene. A rarely seen series with large expressive figures.

Condition - Good detail. Wormholes, repaired. A few light creases at edges.
