Series; Eight Outstanding People Matched with the Plum Calendar, 1859

Otokodate Komatsu no Konosuke, 1859 - Handsome kabuki portrait of the otokodate or street knight Komatsu no Konosuke looking intently over his shoulder with a worried expression. He wears a striking kimono with a design of folding fans with red tassels and pine sprigs, over a red under robe with a black collar. A blue and white towel is draped casually over his shoulder. The title cartouche takes the form of a book cover with an open book of text beside it. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black collar and a dusting of mica across the top of the night sky.

Condition - Good detail. No repairs. A couple light creases at edges.
