Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of actors from different plays set against a background of autumn grasses and blossoms. From left, the actors Ichikawa Ichizo III as Nitta Umejiro, Kawarazaki Gonjuro I as Obo Kichiza, Bando Hikosaburo V as Ukiyodoko no Inosuke. At left, Umejiro carries a lidded wooden panel dangling from a narrow rope, eying his companions suspiciously. At right, Inosuke takes a toothpick from his mouth as he leans forward with a worried frown, the white cloth draped over his shoulders fluttering in the evening breeze. An attractive design with a handsome natural setting and soft shading on the background.
