A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Lucky God Daikoku Kakemono - Terrific kakemono or vertical diptych of Daikoku, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, standing atop two straw-wrapped bales of rice. A man playing the shamisen and a chubby-cheeked, smiling beauty sit atop his shoulders, grinning with delight. Daikoku wears gray robes over white pants and a soft black cap, his magic mallet tucked at his side. A crane flies past a setting sun above, a symbol of good luck. A charming design with lively color and wonderful calligraphic line work.
