A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Scene from Takagi Oriemon budo jitsuroku, 1848 - Interesting scene from the kabuki play "Takagi Oriemon budo jitsuroku" featuring from left, Nakamura Utaemon IV as Otaka Tonomo, Iwai Kumesaburo III as Innami Kazuma, and Ichikawa Kuzo II as Niki Tamonnosuke. In the center, the young samurai Innami Kazuma looks back over his shoulder with a smile as Tonomo grabs hold of his sleeve as he leans forward. At right, Tamonnosuke watches with a worried expression, one elbow resting a top a stone lantern beneath a pine tree. Irises bloom along the edge of the water behind them, creasing an attractive backdrop for the figures. A handsome design.
