Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Kodanji as the priest Kozen of Bukko-ji Temple, holding a book of sutras in one hand as he leans forward with an angry grimace. Flames can be seen at left, with smoke billowing up across the night sky. An expressive figure, nicely detailed with embossing on the collar of the under robe and a dusting of mica across the top of the sky.

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Backed with paper. Diagonal fold across center, a few creases and marks, slight rubbing at edge, light horizontal and vertical lines where backing papers meet. Please see photos for details.
