Seki Sanjuro II as Dekiboshi no Saburobei, 1832

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Seki Sanjuro II as the otokodate or street knight Dekiboshi no Saburobei in the play "Hana ni Tori Sakigake Soga" at the Nakamura Theater. He leans forward with a scowl, his brows furrowed as he flings one hand out at his side. His kimono features rabbit motifs and a green print lining, worn over a red under robe. An early kabuki scene by Kuniyoshi.

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Vertical folds. Small loss at edge, repaired. Slight rubbing at edges, horizontal wrinkle near top. Please see photos for details.
