Ichikawa Sadanji and Ichikawa Danjuro

Comments - Interesting kabuki double portrait featuring from left Ichikawa Sadanji and Ichikawa Danjuro. The man at right looks up with a frown, his brows furrowed and his hair combed back over the top of his head with longer locks falling over his shoulders. He wears a green coat patterned with dragons over a purple kimono tucked into pants. His companion stares down with an angry scowl. The inset at upper left depicts sparklers burning in a tobacco set. Nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and soft shading around the eyes.

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4" + top margin as shown
