A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Junichi Mibugawa - Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Junichi Mibugawa learned woodblock printing while working for a Kyoto woodblock publishing company. He carves and prints his own designs in the sosaku hanga tradition, signing each limited edition print in pencil, typically using a limited palette of harmonious muted colors. His use of simplified forms and soft shading gives his works a dreamy atmosphere. Mibugawa was selected to exhibit at the prestigious 86th Japan Print Association show in 2018, but his works are rarely seen outside Japan. A nice choice for a collector interested in contemporary Japanese woodblocks.
