Series; Eight Famous Views of Omi
Sunset Glow at Seta, 1855 - Charming portrait of a beauty looking ahead with a smile as she holds a fan decorated with a bird and a butterfly up above her head. She wears a gray kimono patterned with wavy blue lines and blossoms, tied with a black kimono that reverses to a rust floral print. Behind her, a low container of water holds and arrangement of plants around a rock. The inset above depicts the bridge at Seta as the sun begins to set, the sails of ships returning for the night in the distance as a warm glow spreads along the horizon. The first time we've seen this attractive design.
