Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Onoe Takanojo as a beauty holding a samurai helmet, looking up over her shoulder with a somewhat quizzical expression. She wears a purple kimono patterned with poem slips and cherry blossoms over a red under robe, her hair adorned with a red lacquer comb and many ribbons. Oversize peonies decorate the screen behind her. An attractive design, detailed with burnishing on the black lacquer frame of the screen.
