Series; Women's Activities of the Tokugawa Era

Flower Cart - Beautiful scene of elegantly dressed young women admiring a flower cart holding an elaborate arrangement of peonies, chrysanthemums, maple leaves, and a blossoming cherry branch. One beauty kneels beside the cart, adjusting a sash of red fabric draped around the woven container. The woman at right holds a young child, who reaches eagerly toward the colorful display. Nicely detailed with embossing on the white kimono collars and trim, and burnishing on the hair, the black kimono, and the cart wheels.
