Streetcar on a Bridge, 1888

Comments - Interesting image of a horse-drawn streetcar crossing over a modern stone bridge in Tokyo. Pedestrians and a rickshaw can be seen at lower right, while a wagon carrying several passengers goes the opposite direction on the bridge. Modern streetlights flank the roadway. A nice illustration of the rapid modernization taking place in Japan during the Meiji era.

Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. Small tears at edges and holes, repaired. Wrinkling throughout. Please see photos for details.
