Hiroshige III's Famous Places in
Daiichi National Bank, 1873 - Terrific depiction of the Daiichi or First National Bank, the first private bank in Japan, in the Mitsugumi House at Kabuto-cho, Kaiunbashi Bridge. The Western-style lower floors were topped with a miniature castle reflecting shogunate style, complete with a tiled roof. The bridge is filled with pedestrians and vendors, and blossoming cherry trees add color. A nicely detailed design.
