Series; Comparisons for the Five Elements

Wood: Yadorigi, 1847 - 1852 - Lovely scene of a prince and beauties taking shelter beneath a tree during a sudden shower. The young nobleman smiles as two women at right bow in greeting, each with a yellow kimono draped over her head like a hood. Behind them, two palace guards rush for cover as raindrops slant across the darkening sky. At left, a crouching woman looks up with a slightly alarmed expression as she gestures with her hand, the beauty behind her watching her companions with a smile. A handsome design with fine bokashi shading on the sky and faint embossing in the white kimono collars.
