Kawararaki Gonjuro I as Enya Hangan, 1866 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Kawararaki Gonjuro I as Lord Enya Hangan from the famous play "Kanadehon Chushingura," based on the true story of the 47 ronin. He looks to the side with a distraught expression, gripping his sword in one hand. He wears a formal blue kamishimo over a blue violet kimono with plaid inserts, a poem slip on the floor beside him. A nice expressive figure.
