Series; Fifty Kinds of Flowers

Chinese Hibiscus, 1935 - Interesting depiction of a praying mantis perched on a blossoming hibiscus, the image surrounded by an embossed double line in an octagonal shape. Eiichi carved the blocks for the design, which was printed by Unsodo. The artist contributed twenty designs to the series, which was published in 1935. A charming shin-hanga design from a rarely seen series.

Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. Wrinkle, indent in margin, a couple creases at edges. Please see photos for details.
