Series; Stories of a Hundred Heroes of High Renown, 1843 - 1844

Takenouchi no Sukune, 1843 - 1844 - Handsome portrait of the legendary Japanese statesman and hero Takenouchi no Sukune, who served under five emperors. He supposedly lived to the age of 280, and survived the ordeal of plunging his hands into boiling water to prove his innocence after being accused of treason. A rarely seen Kuniyoshi series.

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Semicircular tear, slight thinning at edge, repaired. A few creases, a couple stains. Please see photos for details.
